About Us

OUR HISTORY
Kiettisack International School (KIS) was founded in 1992 by Dr. David Marian and Dr. Chansanga Valakone with 25 students as Daystar School. After Dr. Marian’s passing, the school was renamed Honour International School (HIS). In 2005, it became Kiettisack International School (KIS) after receiving international status from the Lao Ministry of Education.
Since then, KIS has grown into a leading private institution, offering high-quality international education from Nursery to Secondary. In 2012, KIS expanded to Luang Prabang (KIS-LP), providing both Cambridge International and Lao national curricula. KIS celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022, and KIS-LP marked 10 years of excellence the same year.

KIS MISSION STATEMENT
We believe in the dignity and value of all students and the need to foster their individual responsibilities as future global citizens. Every child deserves equal educational opportunities, tailored to their abilities and personal needs.
In a constantly changing world, education should help students develop values and thinking skills that enable them to adapt. Learning is a lifelong process, and education should encourage independent thinking, exploration, and experimentation. Our goal is to equip students with Knowledge, Inspiration, and Success, empowering them to achieve their personal and professional aspirations as productive members of society.
